    Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is a top immigration pathway for temporary foreign workers and international graduates seeking permanent residence in Canada.

    Why Choose the CEC?

    • Federal and Provincial Support: Joint efforts to attract skilled workers and students to Canada’s workforce.
    • Canadian Work Experience Advantage: Applicants with Canadian work permits integrate more smoothly into the job market.
    • Higher CRS Points: CEC applicants get more points in the Express Entry system, increasing their chances of permanent residence.
    • Fast Processing: Successful applicants often receive permanent residence within six months.
    • No Settlement Funds Required: Unlike other Express Entry programs, CEC does not require proof of settlement funds.

    Eligibility Requirements

    • Work Experience: At least 1 year of skilled work experience in Canada within the last 3 years.
    • Skilled Work Categories: TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 according to the National Occupational Classification (NOC).
    • Language Proficiency: Minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 for TEER 0 or 1 jobs, and level 5 for TEER 2 or 3 jobs.
    • Temporary Resident Status: Experience must be gained while legally working in Canada.

    • Can be met through:
      • Full-time work (30 hours/week) for 12 months.
      • Part-time work equivalent to full-time hours (15 hours/week for 24 months).

    Non-Eligibility

    • Those working illegally.
    • Work experience gained without temporary resident status.

    Education

    • Canadian and foreign education credentials can boost your CRS score.

    How the Process Works

    • Express Entry System: CEC operates within Express Entry, where candidates with high CRS scores are invited to apply for permanent residence.
    • Regular Draws: Approximately every two weeks, IRCC invites top-ranking candidates to apply.
