Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) allows Canadian provinces and territories to nominate individuals for permanent residency based on their skills and work experience. This program is designed to meet specific local labor market needs.
Benefits of the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
- Faster processing for permanent residency
- Opportunity to live and work in a specific province
- Pathway to Canadian citizenship
How the PNP Works
Choose a Province or Territory
Each province and territory has its PNP with specific criteria and streams. Research and choose the one that fits your skills and career goals.
Check Eligibility
Review the eligibility requirements for the chosen province’s PNP. These can include job offers, work experience, education, and language proficiency.
Apply for Nomination
Apply to the provincial or territorial government. If nominated, you will receive a nomination certificate.
Submit Express Entry Profile (if applicable)
If you are applying through an Express Entry stream, submit your profile to the Express Entry pool. Include your nomination certificate to receive additional CRS points.
Receive Invitation to Apply (ITA)
With a nomination, you receive an ITA for permanent residency through the Express Entry system or directly apply for permanent residency if applying outside of Express Entry.
Submit an Application for Permanent Residency
Submit your application to IRCC, including your provincial nomination certificate. Ensure all documents are complete and accurate.
Application Assessment
IRCC reviews your application. Once approved, you receive your permanent residency visa.
