- Can I sponsor my spouse if I don’t meet income requirements?
There is no income requirement to sponsor a common-law partner or spouse outside of Quebec. The sponsor does need to show that the are not receiving social assistance of in the process of claiming bankruptcy.
- What proof is required for a spousal sponsorship application?
There are two main types of documents that will be included in an application; documents to support eligibility (i.e. passports and marriage certificate), and documents to support the genuineness of your relationship (i.e. joint lease agreement and photos of your wedding).
